Take a leisurely stroll upon the back of a rocking Thai elephant, lurching and rolling like a crazy drunken fairground ride, pluck ripe rambutan as you pass beneath the trees. But hang on tight as these majestic old gentlemen of the forests negotiate the slippery, rock-strewn streams, heading onwards towards the cool dark rainforests of Koh Phangan Paradise Island.

10:15 - 10:45

Chinese Temple Kuan-Yin Shrine A beautiful Chinese temple at a mountain viewpoint overlooking Chaloklum Bay, featuring ornate decorations and a statue of Kuan-Yin, the Goddess of Mercy housed in the highest building. The Chinese Temple is located on the road between Thong Sala and Chaloklum. The temple is the result of the dream an American woman had in 1990 in which the (Chinese) Buddha spoke to her and asked her to build a light for the people.

11:00 - 11:45

Boarding boat in Chaloklum and Haad Khom Or Mae Haad Bay for snorkeling There are many great snorkeling and dive spots on the island, especially on the Northwest coast. Haad Khom is one of the best coastal snorkeling sites on Koh Phangan. One of the best spots is around the little island of Koh Ma ('Horse Island'), off Mae Haad Beach at the Northwestern tip of Koh Phangan.

12:00 - 13:00

Lunch in a beachfront restaurant with sea view on Thong Nai Pan. At lunchtime, we will rest on the Island and enjoy a Thai set lunch will be served with drinks, coffee and fresh fruit. It is possible to swim at both beaches all year round. There are also some decent waves for body surfing. Both beaches have a bohemian vibe and small villages with cool bars and restaurants. Early risers are treated with breath-taking sunrises. Nearby Thon Nai Pan is good for fishing.

13:45 - 14:30

Bottle Beach It is possible to swim at both beaches all year round.

14:45 - 15:30

Than Sadet Waterfall National Park Located in the east of Koh Phangan. About halfway up the road from Ban Tai Village to Thong Nai Pan Beach there's turn-off heading east at Thong Nang Village. This trail follows a river along which you'll see a series of waterfalls collectively known as Than Sadet Waterfall. This year-round waterfall cascades into the ocean at Haad Sadet Beach. From the twin beaches here you can follow a trail inland along the waterfall to a series of boulders marking the initials of Kings Rama V, VII & IX of Thailand, who have all visited the falls over the last century.
