Bophut Beach Attractions and Activities
Koh Samui Attractions
Bophut and its famous Fisherman’s Village are amongst our favourite holiday destinations in Koh Samui; the area hosts a great range of attractions and activities to entertain vacationers. Of course, the prime attraction remains the three kilometres long beach which permits standard Thai beach leisure activities and even hosts an aqua park featuring large inflatable floating devices on which children and adults alike can enjoy themselves.
For the energetic, Bophut activities and attractions range from exploring the jungle canopy by swinging through the trees to Go-Karting to golfing and mini-golfing to visiting Samui Crocodile Farm, and more. After all these energetic activities, visitors can get pampered at one of the spas/massage shops available along Fisherman’s Village main street.Read More

Aquapark Bophut is slightly smaller than Chaweng’s version, yet still provides hours of fun in Bophut Bay.

Bophut Hills Golf Club
Bophut Hills Golf Club is located on Samui Ring Road in the beautiful hillside between Bophut and Chaweng. Opened in 2006 and designed by the famous golf course architect Piraporn Namatra – who also designed Santiburi Golf Course in Koh Samui - Bophut Hills Golf Club is a nine-hole par 27 course offering a challenge to both new and experienced golfers.
Every hole on the course features two sets of Tee – Red (for beginners) and Blue (for experienced golfers) – and the atmosphere at Bophut Hills Golf Club is pretty casual as no particular dress code is required to play. Quality equipment and caddies are available for rental, and the clubhouse is a cosy place for golfers to share their experience around a drink or a meal. Rates are rather affordable: 1,700 baht for the course including rental equipment and caddie (price of April 2014).

The really unique aspect of Cyan Spa is its beachfront location. Set in a traditional Thai-style building, the floor-to-ceiling windows at the back of it look out over the calm waters between Bophut Beach and Koh Phangan. There is an impressive choice of treatments available and, while prices are a little higher than the average (a traditional Thai massage is 450 baht for one hour), the skill of the staff and the quality of the facilities do justify it. The pedicures and manicures are said to be a little disappointing, but the massages are rated as among the best in the area.

Fisherman’s Village Walking Street brings the quiet, sleepy town of Bophut to life every Friday from 17:00 to 23:00. It sees the narrow Beach Road and adjoining streets crammed with market stalls and shoppers from across Koh Samui, with a diverse range of wares available at very low prices.
Many of the stalls sell much the same items as you will find in markets throughout Thailand, including 100-baht T-shirts, simple jewellery, handbags, sunglasses, beer cosies, souvenirs, watches of questionable mechanical soundness, branded clothes of dubious manufacture and electrical goods of suspicious provenance. As with all market shopping in Thailand, a certain amount of judgement and measured expectations is necessary when Read More...

Koh Samui is synonymous with coconut trees - there are literally plantations all over the island, and until tourism arrived, coconuts were the main industry here. How do you get at the coconuts? The entertainment also includes performing elephants.

There are many tattooists on Samui offering work of varying quality. Although most tend to offer reasonable standards of health and hygiene, its worthwhile making a thorough (sober) assessment of the studio before going under the needle.
Thailand's infamous monks tattoos, which supposedly give the recipient magical powers, are available occasionally at Big Buddha temple - though recent reports suggest that they are a number of health risks associated with this practice, so extreme caution should be exercised.
For anyone seeking a Western tattooist, Tattoo Mania in Bophut Fisherman's Village can be recommended. Run by French ex-pat Esther, who completed a four-year apprenticeship with Khun Nong, one of the island's best Thai tattoo artists, Tattoo Mania offers a full range of traditional, tribal and modern designs, all individually tailored to personal specifications after a consultation with Esther.
