What to Do in Chaweng Beach
Chaweng has developed a great range of activities to complement the longstanding favourites of eating, shopping and sunbathing. If you stay on the island a few days and want to expand your horizons, or the weather plays up, there is still plenty to do. So switch off the TV and switch onto some of the fun holiday occupations on offer.
The beach of Chaweng features the usual suspects that are jet-skiing and snorkelling to which exciting new activities such as fly-boarding and a cool Aquapark have been added. Inland, a cornucopia of things to do awaits vacationers including bungee jumping, mini-golf, fitness, horse riding, shooting range, and a lot more. It’s almost impossible to get bored while on holiday in Chaweng.
Other Activities in Chaweng Beach
Aquapark Chaweng is a fun beach activity for the whole family located in front of Monkey Bay Bar & Restaurant in the central part of Chaweng Beach (from Chaweng Beach Road, follow the path through Chaweng Walk just South of Beachcomber Hotel). Featuring eight large inflatable floating devices including a five-metre high iceberg wall, a human catapult, an enormous trampoline, and objects of various shapes to climb on - Aquapark Chaweng is an entertaining activity which suits perfectly Koh Samui’s tropical climate.
Security is the main priorities here, and all participants must wear a life-jacket to be allowed in the Aquapark. Prices are reasonable: one hour – 300 baht; half-day – 500 baht (four hours); and full-day – 700 baht (seven hours). Lockers are available to store participants’ belongings.

Crazy Golf is a nine-hole mini-golf course located behind the Islander Pub in central Chaweng. Crazy Golf is under Gringos Cantina and The Outback – two popular restaurants located in the same soi – and is great fun for all ages. The course is set in a neat and nicely landscaped garden, and the different holes make players putt up hills, through water, and through the mouth of a roaring tiger or snapping crocodile.
Parent-friendly, the site hosts a full bar with a pool table, football table, large television which allows non-players to enjoy themselves while their children play a course (kids enjoy a discount from 11:00 – 18:00). Lunch is also possible here from 13:00 onward.

D’s Spa Aroma Thai Massage
D’s Spa Aroma Thai Massage is a rather large spa/massage/aromatherapy complex set in a two storey modern building located on the beach road in the central area of Chaweng. Featuring a contemporary Thai style décor and furnishing, D’s Spa offers a great choice of soothing and revitalising massages (Thai, Swedish, coconut oil, reflexology i.e. foot massage) – and spa treatments – body scrubs, face massage with natural products, and aromatherapy (a form of alternative medicine which has positive physical and psychological effects by using aromatic plant oils through massages and inhalation).

Gyms and Fitness
If you feel like working out, then two of Chaweng's smarter resorts have well-equipped, air-conditioned gyms where you can get day-membership. At the Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui a pass costs 275 Baht, while at the other end of the beach the Chaweng Regent also has a good gym and for 400b per day. You can also use the two great pools, and steam and sauna. The Imperial Hotel in Chaweng Noi, on the ring road toward Lamai, has a Tennis court for hire.
Why not explore Samui's beautiful scenery from a different angle? Instead of watching the Samui scenery whiz by from the back of a motorbike, slow down and really enjoy the view on horseback. Ride on Ranch offers several different guided tours around Samui's beaches and jungles. The European standard horses are calm and well trained and all equipment is provided.

Alternatively, if you have children and fancy a bit of time to yourself, there is a creche located at the very southern end of the beach road, called The Playroom. It's in need of a lick of paint, but the staff team is trustworthy, all experienced child minders and there are lots of toys and DVDs to keep the little ones amused. It is open from 12, and stays open until up to 10 or 11pm, by arrangement, if you want to go out for dinner.

Samui Shooting Sport is a modern shooting range located 200m from Tesco Lotus on Samui Ring Road. Featuring an impressive stock of firearms from revolvers to automatic pistols to .22 rifles to shotguns to AK-47s (the famous Kalashnikov) to gas-operated 7.62x39mm assault rifles, wannabe Rambos, sharpshooters and other pistoleros can find the right piece here.
Strictly supervised by a team of professionals, safety is at the top of priorities at Samui Shooting Sport. On arrival, shooters are presented with a list of available weapons and the types of targets they want to shoot at (standard or black silhouette). Precise instructions are provided by an instructor whose also takes care of loading the weapon. Thai cooking classes
These provide a fun day of culinary tuition, and The Samui Institute of Culinary Arts (SITCA) has a choice of classes including intensive weeklong courses for the more serious student. In the classes you learn how to prepare some classic Thai dishes such as green curry, and Tom Yam, and also find out about Thai ingredients and regional cooking techniques. SITCA also provides recipes to take-away, sells spices and has literature on-site. They will even e-mail you with monthly recipes to try back home.
