How Many Rooms?
Shasa offers 32 suites, ranging from one-bedroom to three-bedroom arrangements along with one spacious beachfront pool villa.
There are different permutations with suite sizes ranging from the 120sqm Seaview one-bedroom suites to the 259sqm Shasa Exclusive three-bedroom suites.
All suites are fitted out with parquet floors, striking artwork, cheerful colour combinations, plenty of rugs underfoot and extensive lighting choices. To the side, off the main living room, is an open-plan kitchen with a mini-balcony featuring a washing and drying machine and hanging space.
In the fully furnished kitchen itself guests can make use of a Samsung double fridge (with complimentary mini-bar), oven, toaster, a Teka microwave, full dining accessories and coffee and tea-making accessories. The living room has a large dining table, iPod accessories, a 42" plasma-screen TV, DVD player and a full sound system as well as opulent sofa space. Large sliding doors lead out to balcony featuring a dining table for six, a massage bed, panoramic sea views and views of the property and the swimming pools below.
In our two-bedroom exclusive suite, the main bedroom had a king-size bed with a working space at its head, another giant TV, a huge bathroom with a sunken bath so big that it took 30 minutes to draw, views out to sea that provided ample daylight, double sinks and mirrors and a reinforced glass-door shower with overall marble finishes.
The other bedroom also featured plenty of space, two separate beds (all bedding at Shasa uses Egyptian cotton), a large bathroom, shower, and lots of storage space. Both rooms featured robes and slippers, generous toiletries, a safety box and good hanging space. Shasa offers a butler service that includes breakfast prepared in your suite. Simply submit your order the day before and enjoy getting pampered. The complimentary welcome fruit is seasonal and can vary.
The hotel's 'Z' restaurant is a dashing black-and-pink colour schemed 50-cover affair with overhead fans and very agreeable background music, interior and al fresco breakfast lunch and dining.
Culinary standards are sky high at medium-to-reasonable prices along with excellent service. Breakfast is a la carte.
A bar serves drinks and snacks near the seaside pool.
Pride of place is taken by the specially designed hydrotherapy spa pool along with large hillside and seaside pools.
The Shasa Spa located to the rear of the restaurant is extremely well appointed with top professionally trained masseuses and 15 choices of massages and treatments. The Spa is adjacent to an air-conditioned fitness room with its own private lockers and a full range of spanking-new equipment as well as personal trainers on hand – open 07:00 – 22:00.
The Kid's Club at Shasa is exemplary and comes with lots of 'soft' playing space (padded raised spaces and pillars), a child-size drum set, electronic keyboards, solid plastic furniture, lowered sinks and toilet with a non-locking door, a good selection of games, Playstations, Disney DVD's, two computers and a library. Supervised and open from 09:00 to 20:00 it overlooks the hillside pool. Next to the lobby stands a mini-library and a souvenir shop and guests can borrow movies at reception.
For those who need to keep in touch, Shasa provides WiFi throughout the grounds and computer access just to the side of the lobby.
Because of the 32 all-suite arrangement, there's no conceivable way that Shasa could become overcrowded and rushed, therefore exclusivity is guaranteed.
As mentioned, Shasa is a recent development but shows no signs of immaturity as experienced staff members have been recruited from reputable sources.
The landscaping is impressive, décor tasteful and the location deliciously isolated. All in all a good choice for those looking to holiday in small groups and families yet who wish to avoid crowds.
