Nikki Beach Koh Samui is the premier high-end beach club and resort on the island. Located on the pristine Lipa Noi Beach on the west coast, it is the only club of its kind to enjoy stunning sunsets, best viewed from the luxurious poolside sun loungers and cabanas.
The exclusive club is found down a relatively minor-looking road off the main ring road around Koh Samui. Prices for claiming a cabana, sofa or sun lounger for the day vary according to the time of year, but the high season rate is in the region of 11,000 baht for a poolside cabana, 6,000 baht for one of the nearby large sun beds and 4,000 baht for the spots closest to the sea. Each choice comes with a free welcome drink and a bottle of bubbly, ranging from sparkling wine for the beach beds up to top-of-the-range champagne for the poolside.
There is a fun and carefree atmosphere at Nikki Beach Koh Samui, created in part by the place’s exceptional popularity, talented live DJs and musicians playing chill-out tunes, regular special events, first-class service from western-trained staff and, of course, the unbeatable beverages. The drinks menu includes a huge range of wines, champagnes, spirits and liqueurs. Prices start at 160 baht for a local beer, through 320 baht for a glass of good whiskey and right up to 199,000 baht for a Nebuchadnezzar (that’s 15 litres!) of Pommery Brut Royal champagne. A personal favourite is the mango Bellini – a fitting combination of tropical fruit and sparkling wine or champagne.
The food menu is no less exceptional and many of the signature dishes have become world-famous for the skilful preparation of high-quality ingredients. Popular choices include “Nikki Beach’s Famous Chicken Satay” (390 baht), Koh Samui wok-tossed beef tenderloin (with sautéed Wagyu beef, cilantro, oyster sauce and Asian vegetables – 490 baht) and tiger prawns in Paneang curry (695 baht). There is a choice of shared platters - ideal for as few as two and as many as six people – and the buffet-style Sunday brunch should definitely not be missed. Sundays are really the best time to visit Nikki Beach, as the pool area welcomes a crowd of beautiful people, dancing, chatting or taking a dip in the pool in front of the incredible backdrop of a tropical island sunset.
The beach club is part of the exclusive 48-room Nikki Beach Resort Koh Samui and has been the top VIP chill-out beach experience since its opening in 2009. Even with a capacity of 250 people, it fills up fast, so reserving your place is recommended.
