Lying to the north of Chaweng and Bophut, Maenam (‘Mother of Water’) is a quieter scene than her neighbours. The nearest nightlife is 15 minutes away by car in Bophut and although the area has a few bars and busy restaurants things quieten down pretty early. Maenam is home to Santiburi – a large five-star resort with an 18-hole golf course nearby and the area’s sometimes-rocky, sometimes-not coastline provides an atmospheric backdrop to the many beachside resorts here.
