Nathon Shopping
Nathon town is Samui's administrative centre and where the locals head to do some serious shopping at low prices. The two main roads in Nathon are filled with shops and stalls selling silk goods, shoes and excellent copies. Although Chaweng has more choice, you can still find most things in Nathon. There are several excellent souvenir shops in Nathon as well for something quirky to take back home! |
This little art café and shop sells some of the prettiest ceramic kitchenware on Samui. The plates, bowls and mugs are all delicately hand painted. About Arts and Crafts is owned by two Thai artists and the walls and shelves are covered with their creations. There are watercolours carvings and even a small range of beautiful jewellery on offer. This small shop and gallery has one of the strangest collections of art and ornaments on the island. With tackorama and beautiful antiques jumbled around each other, it makes for an eclectic choice of Asian pieces. My Jewel has a fairly average selection of jewellery in silver and gold and precious gems but the prices are a lot cheaper than in Chaweng. One of the best shoe shops on the island, Samui Shoes is famous for the quality of their real leather shoes and the beautiful designs.
