Samui Canopy Adventures

Sports and Outdoor Adventures in Samui

Samui has long been known for its lovely beaches, warm water and countless coconut trees but there’s more to the island than that. We are talking about flying over Samui’s tropical jungle on cable rides on a zip-line adventure. The amazing bird’s eye views of this lush rainforest and its surroundings are truly memorable. Zipping along from line to line and pretending to be a modern-day Jane or Tarzan is a perfect and unique way to complement your Samui stay.

Flying high with Samui Canopy Adventures

For those who are not familiar with this thrilling activity and wonder what a zip line is, here’s your chance to find out. Basically, riders are hooked onto a cable that is attached to high trees and/or towers above the jungle, and then they get to ride along using nothing but the force of gravity. The ride can be fast or slow, depending on the position of the stations. The whole production is very environmentally friendly indeed.

At Koh Samui Canopy Adventures, you get to cable glide at speeds nearing 80kmph with breathtaking waterfall views from seven platforms high up in the trees, via six thrilling cable rides. As this is a family activity, no one should be left behind as long as they are at least seven years old. Prices start from about 1,700 baht for adults and 1,200 baht for children.

Good to Know

The beauty of Canopy Adventures is that no experience is necessary because each rider is trained beforehand by the experienced crew using high-standard equipment and gear. The practice session lasts a good 20 minutes and it gets riders fully primed for the hard-to-forget rides.

After the ride is over, it’s time for everyone to sit back and relax while enjoying fresh in-season fruits, light snacks and cold/hot drinks. Before the trip ends, you can jump into a natural pool at the waterfall that you just zipped over earlier.

Bring along your swimming gear!

Ladies who like to wear jewelry should leave it behind at the hotel and come dressed as light as possible as bracelets, necklaces and the like don’t go well with this extreme adventure.

Don’t forget that you are going to be in a real jungle, so a good pair of walking shoes is needed and putting on some insect repellant is necessary. Cameras are a must; the crew members are more than willing to take your photo while you’re in action.
