Coco Tam's is a fun and extremely popular beach bar at the western outskirts of Fisherman’s Village. With beanbags on the beach, swing seats at the bar, cabanas, shisha and even a large projector screen, it’s a delightful tropical relaxation spot and one of the most popular nightlife attractions in Fisherman’s Village.
The venue is very much an open-air arrangement, with only a couple of palm-thatch buildings to find once you enter the well-maintained area and a neat little garden separating it from Bophut Beach Road. The look and feel is that of an easy-going rustic beach bar, with palms and people nodding to chillout tunes. Read More...

Karma Sutra in Bophut is unreservedly all-out retro hippy chic. Flanking both sides of the entrance to Fisherman’s Village by the pier; Karma Sutra has chunky Indonesian wooden furniture, cool sounds, and muted lights. Here, you’ll meet quirky characters galore and it’s pretty obvious by the design and décor that a fair amount of thought (and investment) has gone into it.
The 2 branches are slightly different from each other, with one side markedly busier than the other. As well as having a full menu (charmingly presented as a newspaper) and drinks list, French-owned Karma Sutra is also a great people-watching spot with good views of the sea and pier. Read More...

The Emerald Irish Pub offers draft Guinness and Kilkenny as well as local beers. Fan-cooled, the pub has live sports on 3 screens. Décor wise, The Emerald has genuine Irish pub fittings historic photos of old Dublin, Guinness barges and whiskey ads on the walls. Some of the walls have bare bricks, lending the place a suitable rough-and-ready feel.
The pub's terrace views, like those of many Bophut bars and restaurants, take in Koh Phangan and the fishing fleets that gently pass by in the early evening. The Emerald has live music on occasion and, if you're anywhere near this pub on St. Patrick's Day, be sure to make a beeline to join in the celebrations. Warm, friendly and very Irish, The Emerald is a good, clean, and recommendable location in which to spend an evening. Read More...

The Frog and Gecko Pub is a rather rustic venue located along the main street of Bophut’s Fisherman’s Village. Open since 2000 and owned and managed by long-term expats Graeme and Raphaella, who work hard to ensure everyone enjoys themselves, the Frog and Gecko is busy most nights, but packed on Wednesdays for their pub quiz.
With lots of wooden chairs and tables and with views out to Koh Phangan, the resulting atmosphere is a mixture of tropical and laid-back. Regarding food, expect good, hearty fare befitting a pub and its welcome lack of pretention means an amusing and friendly clientele. The Frog and Gecko has sports TV and a pool table as well as lots of quality ‘70s tunes, Brit Pop, rock and punk played through its sound system. Read More...
